TCC & Pump Stator Problems

Old Habits will get you in some trouble with this unit. It was unusual to need stator bushings replaced on C-6 transmissions. The stator bushings should be replaced during most overhauls ! I know, anybody who has tried to change C-6 or E4OD bushings do not look forward to ever doing it again but how about a nice easy way to change them. You will need your GM 350 Stator bushing removal tool, a common tool for anyone who has been building for very long, If you don't have one, BUY ONE !, You will also need to dig up a old C-6 input shaft. Use the small bushing removal tool that has the fingers with the lip & the C-6 shaft to presss the bushings from the stator safely & easily.

You MUST WATCH THE DEPTH ON THE NEW BUSHINGS

(shown below)

The Front Bushing must be down aprox .870 of a inch. Failure to install at the correct depth will prevent the Torque Converter from filling with oil causing a NO MOVER ! Good Stator Bushings prevent the overdrive drum from moving around & causing damage.
